Have you ever wondered what goes into a sermon? Maybe you are feeling the Lord calling you to be available to fill the pulpit for the preacher or perhaps you are feeling the nudge from the Lord to enter into full-time ministry as a pastor. Wherever the Lord is leading you to serve and in whatever capacity if you would like to learn what goes into a sermon (and doesn’t), how to develop a sermon and have a safe place to practice – then this is for you.
A Preaching Basics Class is being offered at the Gladwin First United Methodist Church. Class Schedule will be Saturday, Jan 9; Saturday, Jan 16; and Saturday, Jan 30. Recommended reading for the class is: Called to Preach by Dawn Chesser and From Pew to Pulpit by Clifton F. Guthrie. The class is free. All you need to do is register! Registration deadline is Dec. 17.
