1. Assist Appointed Elder in all duties and responsibilities of pastoral ministry where needed (Paragraph 340 UMC Discipline, 2016)
2. Develop Discipleship Opportunities within the church
3. Assist with Youth (ROOTED)
4. Small Group coordination for Class and Band Discipleship Groups
5. Help develop a new worship service
6. Follow up on visitation, new guests, and shut ins
7. Be a presence of outreach from the church in the community
8. Preaching on occasion
9. Be a presence at Sunday morning worship services to connect people
10. Attend all staff meetings and Board of Ministry meetings
A strong Spiritual life in Christ as evidenced by others
Qualified degree in ministry or equivalent qualifications through the United Methodist Church
Several years pastoral experience
A willingness to be flexible as ministry opportunities unfold
3-4 Days per week
Approx. 20 hours per week
$2,500 for travel expenses
$2,500 for Continuing Ed and Professional Reimbursement
4 weeks vacation per year
Yearly evaluation based on growth of congregation and commitment to serve

Sanford United Methodist Church Choir Director
Do you like directing an adult church choir? Sanford United Methodist Church is looking for you!
We have a 10:30 am worship service on Sunday mornings and our choir needs a part time choir
director. This is a 4-5 hour per week position with salary appropriate to your experience. Choir
practice is every Wednesday from 6-7 pm and we sing twice a month in worship.
We are looking for a choir director who reads music, who can choose appropriate music,
organize, teach and direct the choir during rehearsals and as we sing in worship. If you play an
instrument, that is a bonus!

Director of Youth Ministry
Caro United Methodist Church in Caro, MI will hire a director of youth ministries to lead and grow our middle-high school youth program, to begin as soon as a qualified person is identified. The youth minister will work in cooperation with the pastor and lay leadership to develop a multi-faceted program of discipleship, outreach, and fun. Training in youth ministry (degree preferred) or a related field is required. 10-15 hours per week, with the possibility of greater responsibilities as the program grows. Compensation will be $8000-$10,000/year, depending on training and experience.

Director of Music Ministry

The ideal candidate would have the skills and experience to:
Lead and oversee the music ministry area as a whole—fostering the vision, direction, and impact of our vibrant music ministry.
Oversee and guide other music staff.
Seek out and select songs and hymns appropriate for the weekly worship services and assist in planning worship order and non-musical elements, in conjunction with the pastors.
Communicate worship needs to the sound and video teams.
Manage the music ministry budget and oversee the maintenance and repairs of our pianos and pipe organ.
Serve as organist to play hymns, prelude, postlude, offertory, communion and other music (on piano or organ as appropriate) for the weekly Traditional Service.
Accompany the Chancel Choir weekly rehearsals (September – May) and accompany them in worship on piano or organ as appropriate.
Direct our advanced adult hand bell choir, which plays monthly in worship, September – May, and recruit new members as appropriate.
Lead our weekly contemporary service (with keyboard or guitar and vocally as able), and recruit and groom other worship leaders and praise band musicians.
Be familiar with technology often used in worship including PlanningCenter, PraiseCharts, CCLI Songselect, and MediaShout.
Communicate with and distribute music (hard copies, PDFs, etc.) to the praise band, bell choir, or any other musicians involved in services in a timely manner as needed.
Rehearse with special soloists or other ensembles at agreed upon times.
Depending on the unique talents and interests of a candidate, this position may be separated into two (multiple) part time positions.
