Mt. Pleasant First UMC seeks part-time musicians to fill various openings for our two Sunday morning worship experiences. The 9:00 am service has a traditional style with an organist and a choir. The 11:00 am service is contemporary in style with a worship leader and praise band. Applicants must have a strong Christian faith, and understanding of the Bible, and a commitment to Jesus Christ. Director of Music Ministries
The music ministry director is responsible for coordinating all music ministries at Mt. Pleasant First UMC. The director works with the pastor to plan and coordinate a year-round ministry of musical excellence and is responsible for supervising all music staff, maintaining musical instruments and managing the yearly music budget. The director must have musical skill, vocally and/or instrumentally, and excellent skills in leadership, communication, time management and teamwork. A degree in music is preferred and preference will be given to individuals who have previous music ministry leadership experience.
The choir director is responsible for weekly choir rehearsals and performances of the Chancel Choir from September through May. The choir director reports to the director of music ministries and is responsible for choosing music for the choir, arranging for accompaniments, managing the music library and supplies, and administering scholarships for college students. The director must have vocal experience and excellent skills in leadership, communication, time management and teamwork. A degree in music is preferred and preference will be given to individuals who have previous choral conducting experience.
Praise & Worship Leader
The praise & worship leader is responsible for leading the contemporary Sunday morning worship service, which includes serving as the lead vocalist and leading the praise band. The praise & worship leader reports to the director of music ministries and will choose music for the contemporary service in collaboration with the director and will conduct a weekly rehearsal for the praise band. The praise and worship leader must be a lead quality vocalist and be a skilled instrumentalist (preferably guitar and/or piano). Knowledge of a broad range of contemporary music is required and some college level musical experience is preferred. Preference will be given to individuals with previous music ministry experience.

Sanford United Methodist Church Choir Director
Do you like directing an adult church choir? Sanford United Methodist Church is looking for you!
We have a 10:30 am worship service on Sunday mornings and our choir needs a part time choir
director. This is a 4-5 hour per week position with salary appropriate to your experience. Choir
practice is every Wednesday from 6-7 pm and we sing twice a month in worship.
We are looking for a choir director who reads music, who can choose appropriate music,
organize, teach and direct the choir during rehearsals and as we sing in worship. If you play an
instrument, that is a bonus!

Director of Youth Ministry
Caro United Methodist Church in Caro, MI will hire a director of youth ministries to lead and grow our middle-high school youth program, to begin as soon as a qualified person is identified. The youth minister will work in cooperation with the pastor and lay leadership to develop a multi-faceted program of discipleship, outreach, and fun. Training in youth ministry (degree preferred) or a related field is required. 10-15 hours per week, with the possibility of greater responsibilities as the program grows. Compensation will be $8000-$10,000/year, depending on training and experience.

The ideal candidate would have the skills and experience to:
Lead and oversee the music ministry area as a whole—fostering the vision, direction, and impact of our vibrant music ministry.
Oversee and guide other music staff.
Seek out and select songs and hymns appropriate for the weekly worship services and assist in planning worship order and non-musical elements, in conjunction with the pastors.
Communicate worship needs to the sound and video teams.
Manage the music ministry budget and oversee the maintenance and repairs of our pianos and pipe organ.
Serve as organist to play hymns, prelude, postlude, offertory, communion and other music (on piano or organ as appropriate) for the weekly Traditional Service.
Accompany the Chancel Choir weekly rehearsals (September – May) and accompany them in worship on piano or organ as appropriate.
Direct our advanced adult hand bell choir, which plays monthly in worship, September – May, and recruit new members as appropriate.
Lead our weekly contemporary service (with keyboard or guitar and vocally as able), and recruit and groom other worship leaders and praise band musicians.
Be familiar with technology often used in worship including PlanningCenter, PraiseCharts, CCLI Songselect, and MediaShout.
Communicate with and distribute music (hard copies, PDFs, etc.) to the praise band, bell choir, or any other musicians involved in services in a timely manner as needed.
Rehearse with special soloists or other ensembles at agreed upon times.
Depending on the unique talents and interests of a candidate, this position may be separated into two (multiple) part time positions.
