Dear Pastors:
A new program entitled, “Central Bay District D-Zone Lay Leader Network (LLN),” is being developed jointly by the District Superintendent and the District Lay Leader. The purpose of the D-Zone LLN is to provide community, partnership, support, and encouragement among the local churches, the D-Zones, and the District. D-Zones are as vital to the health of the District as they are to the churches that comprise the Zone. As wide as our districts have become, it has become difficult to maintain a sense of district-wide connection. Connection among the Lay Leaders of the churches in the D-Zones on a regular basis will offer a path for connection.
We are now at the point where D-Zone Lay Leaders need to be named. These Lay Leaders will be referred to as Point Persons to preclude confusion between D-Zone Leaders and D-Zone Lay Leaders. At the most recent D-Zone meeting held on November 19, 2020, a decision was made that I, as the District Lay leader, would contact local churches and provide the nominations of a point person to the D-Zone Leaders for consideration. Final approval will be made by the District Superintendent. The Point Person will work in harmony with the D-Zone Leader and will serve as a link between local church Lay Leaders and the District Lay Leader.
Request you prayerfully consider nominating the Lay Leader(s) from your local church(es) and provide any nominations you may have to my email shown below not later than December 15, 2020. Nominations should include Lay Leader’s:
